Our story

Built on envelope work since 1999

Darrin Straub founded Advanced Stucco Repair in 1999 to do one trade well: stucco, EIFS and the details that keep water out of the walls behind them. The company is based in Canton and works across Metro Atlanta and North Georgia, and over the years our work has moved toward commercial and multifamily property, where buildings are larger and a misdiagnosed leak costs more.

That focus suits Decatur. The city's commercial buildings span several eras and systems, older masonry with stucco repairs, 1980s and 1990s EIFS offices, and newer mixed-use and apartment buildings, often within the same few blocks. Working on them well means recognizing how each was built, diagnosing before cutting, and matching repairs to finishes that have weathered for decades.

It also means fitting into how Decatur properties are run. Condo boards need scopes they can explain to owners, property managers need work that leaves tenants and residents undisturbed, and general contractors need a trade partner who shows up on schedule with submittals in order. We put the scope in writing, keep the site clean and match the finish to the building. Questions? Contact us.

The ASR standard

What you can expect on every building

From a single leaking storefront to a full condominium recoat, the same six commitments apply.

Diagnose before we cut

Moisture readings at windows, joints and parapets, plus water testing where the leak path is unclear, so the scope matches the real damage.

Readings, not guesswork

Fix the water path

We correct the failed sealant, flashing or termination that let water in, so the same elevation does not need the same repair again.

Cause closed, not covered

Scopes boards can approve

Photos, readings and an itemized scope by elevation that separates urgent water intrusion from cosmetic work, with phasing options for budgets and reserves.

Written and itemized

Work around occupants

Phased elevations, open entrances and noisy work scheduled around tenants, residents and business hours.

Occupied-building planning

Build it in the right layers

Sheathing, weather barrier, flashing, lath, base and finish installed and lapped in order, with proper cure time between coats.

Correct from the studs out

Match the facade

Custom pigment and aggregate blends, sample areas for approval, and recoats corner to corner where a patch would show.

Color & texture matched
How we work

From site walk to finished facade

Every commercial project follows the same three steps, so managers, boards and owners know what is happening and why.

Site walk & survey

We walk the elevations with you, review leak reports and past repairs, and take moisture readings at the details that fail first.

  • Leak reports reviewed
  • Readings by elevation
  • Photo documentation

Written scope & quote

You receive an itemized scope by elevation, with repair and recoat options and a phasing plan that fits budgets, reserves and approvals.

  • Itemized by elevation
  • Urgent vs. cosmetic
  • Phasing options

Phased repair & finish

Crews work elevation by elevation, replace wet substrate, correct flashing and sealants, and finish with a matched color and texture.

  • Access & safety planned
  • Daily cleanup
  • Matched finish

In our clients’ words

Long-term clients on what it is like to work with Advanced Stucco Repair on stucco repair and water intrusion work.

★★★★★
“We had a section of our wall that was crumbling, and I was worried the repairs would stand out. Not only did they fix the issue, but they matched the color and texture so perfectly that I honestly can’t tell where the damage was.”

“For over 10 years we have relied on ASR for all our stucco repair needs, but as well, for a number of other water intrusion related solutions. Their leadership are responsive and have trained their technicians well. We have been 100% satisfied with the work they’ve done for us.”

Where we work

From Canton to Decatur

We are based in Canton, not Decatur, and we say so up front. We plan mobilization and material deliveries ahead so Decatur projects run on a set schedule.

We work across Decatur and the DeKalb County communities around it, from downtown and Oakhurst to North Decatur, Avondale Estates and East Lake. Because many properties with a Decatur address are outside city limits, we confirm the jurisdiction during the site walk so permits and any design review go to the right office.

Commercial & multifamily focus

Offices, retail, condominiums, apartments, restaurants and new construction for general contractors.

Diagnosis first

Moisture readings and water testing before anything is cut or quoted.

Written scopes

Itemized by elevation or building so owners and boards can budget and phase.

Questions & answers

About Advanced Stucco Repair

What Decatur property managers, boards and contractors ask about who we are.

Where are you located, and do you work in Decatur?
We are based in Canton, GA, and we work throughout Metro Atlanta, including Decatur and the surrounding DeKalb County communities. We do not have an office in Decatur; our crews travel to each project.
Do you know how permitting and review work in Decatur?
We know the questions to ask, starting with whether the property is inside City of Decatur limits or in unincorporated DeKalb County. We do not speak for either one, so we always ask clients to confirm requirements with the City of Decatur or DeKalb County, and we provide the scope, photos and product data a review needs.
How long has Advanced Stucco Repair been in business?
Since 1999. The company was founded by Darrin Straub, who still leads it as President.
What kinds of properties do you work on?
Commercial and multifamily: office buildings, shopping centers and storefronts, condominiums and HOAs, apartment communities, restaurants, and new construction for general contractors and developers.
Do you only work on stucco and EIFS?
Stucco and EIFS are the core, along with the work that keeps them dry: sealant and expansion joints, flashing, coatings, sheathing replacement, foam trim and fiber cement integration where it meets the cladding.
Can you work with our board or ownership approval process?
Yes. Our written scopes are organized so boards, owners and asset managers can review, compare and approve them, and we can attend meetings to walk through the findings.
